Check the shade name or number together with the batch code. Both are printed on the base of the pack on a genuine unit, and the batch code matches the one on the outer carton. The seal should be intact, the printing crisp rather than blurred or slightly off-register, and the pack should close cleanly and evenly. Weight and finish are a good second check — a genuine compact feels solid and the hinge has no play in it. We photograph every unit as it arrives and record its batch code and expiry from the carton, so the item you receive is the one we checked. If anything does not match, send us photographs before you use it and we will sort it out with you.
